Year-End Stubhub Data Shows Jam Band Concerts Are Sausage Fests

A report on CBS This Morning today revealed some interesting 2014 concert attendance trends based on data from online ticket marketplace Stubhub. One Direction comes out on top for most tickets sold on Stubhub this year. Live Nation’s president of global talent David Zedeck recently told Billboard that this bodes well for new artists’ potential to become headliners; he pointed out that just two years ago 1D was opening for Big Time Rush. Even more interesting was the gender breakdown for some of this year’s audiences. Among the acts with the highest percentage of tickets purchased by men, the top three were jam bands: the Allman Brothers, Phish, and then Widespread Panic. The highest percentage of women went to Backstreet Boys, 5 Seconds Of Summer, and Ariana Grande, but by a significantly smaller margin. You can watch the report below.
