Annie Clark, who most of us know as St. Vincent, is the latest guest on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, and honestly, she’s a pretty ideal fit for Maron’s show. Clark is an important presence in a genre of music that Maron understands, and she’s got an interesting backstory and a quick enough wit that she can hang with Maron when he gets quippy. Thinking about it now, I’m surprised it hasn’t happened before now. And as Pitchfork points out, there’s a nice piece of news in the episode: Clark and Carrie Brownstein have written some songs together. They don’t have any plans for those songs yet, and both are crazy busy, but just know that those songs exist. Listen to the episode here.
