Why is Young Thug not playing every major music festival this summer? It seems like such a no-brainer. Thug had a huge commercial breakout last year, both on his own and alongside Rich Gang: Tha Tour Part 1 partner Rich Homie Quan, and he ended up on a ton of critics’ best-of-2014 list. As great as Run The Jewels are, they should not be the only rap group to crush the festival circuit. In any case, Thug isn’t letting that bother him, and he’s been throwing out a ton of loose tracks lately, like “Pelican Fly” and the Quan collabs “Hold Us” and “M.O.M. (Mind On Money).” The latest is “Friend Of Scotty,” a weirdly smooth Dun Deal track with a sticky sung chorus from Thug. It’s great, and you can hear it below.
