Chance The Rapper’s new SURF mixtape with Donnie Trumpet & the Social Experiment still doesn’t have a release date, but they’ve just shared a teaser video called “Nothing Came To Me.” It features a bit of new music from the group (with trumpets by Nico Segal), and stars celebrity model Cara Delevingne. She looks like she gets some bad news right as she’s about to go on stage, but puts a smile and goes out anyway. It was directed by Jake Schreier. Read some words from Segal and watch it below.

“Nothing came to me” is a short film written by Francis And The Lights and scored by Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment. Working with Francis so often on the SURF project, we always bounce ideas. I was already putting together “Nothing Came To Me” when the band decided it was kinda like a movie score. So I started with one pass of a melody. I wanted to display as many possible emotions by recording different layers so I played moving chordal horns under the melody. The last layer was done on the euphonium by my friend John Paul Floyd to fill the lower feel of bass. Cara got the script from Dir. Jake Schreier who made one of my favorite movies, Robot & Frank. It’s kinda like backwards scoring you feel me?
