Kevin Shields has history with Le Volume Courbe; the My Bloody Valentine mastermind guested on the London band’s 2005 album I Killed My Best Friend. A decade later, Shields has joined forces with Le Volume Courbe again on “The House,” the A-side from the band’s new single, which also features contributions from Primal Scream’s Martin Duffy and PJ Harvey collaborator John Parish. Charlotte Marionneau’s drowsy, hypnotic vocal is right in Shields’ wheelhouse, and he lends his signature swirl of gorgeous noise to the jaunty, orchestral pop-rock track.
