I was talking about the Academy Awards with a friend last night and he asked, “Have the Golden Globe nominations been announced yet?” ! What a wonderful life that friend must lead. I think I finally get that Great Gatsby quote, “That’s the best thing a nameless friend in a blog post can be in this world, a beautiful little fool regarding pointless award shows, namely the Golden Globes.” Unfortunately we are not as lucky, as we have all gathered here together to discusses the snubs and the bloops and the beautiful ladies in their dresses. Of course, I know we’ll make the best of it. Tiny Fey and Amy Poehler are our hosts! They were a real treat last year! Maybe some people we like will win, and we’ll get to see them thank their teams and families! Maybe someone will fall?! Gosh, it’s all waiting for us, just minutes in our future. Whatever happens, we’ll be here to see it together, commenting and tweeting and drinking our cocktails. Let’s get on with the show!
