This Week In Movie Trailers, You Guys

Elysium is the new movie from the guy who directed District 9, which was great, so everyone is real excited for Elysium and this week we have a trailer. Oh OK, you’re probably thinking, well that’s probably all the trailers there are, which is fine because I’m excited for that trailer, but I bet there aren’t even any other trailers. UH, WRONG. There are other trailers, including the new Jim Rash & Nat Faxon coming of age movie featuring Sam Rockwell and Steve Carrell, so just get ready because there are at least two trailers I can’t actually remember how many but I know at least two.

The Way, Way Back

As you may or may not know, I was a big fan of Ben & Kate and I was sad that it got canceled, but obviously Nat Faxon is doing, uh-gah-reat. He has a fucking Oscar, why were you even worried about him? And Jim Rash is the funniest part of Community. OH AND SAM ROCKWELL. So this looks good. Although sometimes with coming of age movie trailers I feel like Matthew McConaughey in Dazed and Confused: I keep getting older, and they stay the same coming of age.

Filth

In England, Bad Lieutenant is called Bad Lorries! Is the #Filth hashtag trending worldwide yet? I’m sure it’s already trending worldwide, big time.

Now You See Me

This is the second trailer for this movie, and it still looks pretty good to me. I like Mark Ruffalo and Jesse Eisenberg and heists. But I have to say that there’s something kind of less fun about a movie about incredible magicians when it’s just wall-to-wall CGI? Like, magic is kind of neat when people are actually doing it because how do they do it, but human beings can’t actually jump off of a building and turn into a bird made out of dollar bills or whatever the fuck is even going on so it already starts at kind of an unwillful level of suspension of disbelief. You know?

Elysium

Yes. Great. I think Neill Blomkamp has very interesting things to say about race and class but also it is still fun and exciting. Admittedly, it is hard to understand from a trailer how there is any even remotely believable plan to “bring equality” to such an unequal situation. He can blow all the rich people up, but how is he going to convince them to share their money? I guess I will have to see the movie to find out!!!!!!!!! OK, I will!!!!!!

Campus Life

Wait, what? Martin Scorsese, what? Marty? Anyone? Do you know the answer, Ray Liotta?!

Rush

For a movie about cars that go so fast I sure am sleepy already!

Dead Man’s Burden

I like westerns a lot, but I’m not that into trailers for westerns. LIFE IS PRETTY FUNNY SOMETIMES!
