Let’s Make Our Own Lindsay Lohan Artwork!

By Kelly Conaboy / February 20, 2012 - 11:45 am

Lindsay Lohan, lady of interest, seems to have come back on the radar as of late. And by “as of late” I mean as of Saturday night when it was announced that she is going to host Saturday Night Live next week, and then also I guess that Terry Richardson photo shoot that she did. I read on TMZ, my fave newspaper, that Lindsay Lohan reached out to Lorne Michaels herself to ask if she could host. And first of all I know it’s true because of where I read it, but second of all, good for her, I think? At least she’s doing something! Asking to host a popular sketch comedy show! I sincerely hope that it is not a sad train wreck! Anyway I haven’t set up the art news yet, so maybe here just read it for yourselves, from The NYPost:

Lindsay Lohan is rebuilding her movie career, but she’s still a hit in the art world. Domingo Zapata has just sold a piece of artwork comprised of Polaroid pictures of Lohan for more than $100,000. Zapata, who shot the images in his studio at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, is believed to have sold the work through the Hus Gallery to a prominent British collector. The creation comprises four pictures of a platinum blond LiLo with a sultry look, and embellished with paint into an Adam and Eve story of original sin and the words, “An Apple . . . that I like . . . with a bite out of it. Adam and Eve changed mankind forever . . . started SIN . . . it was a plain simple apple hanging from a tree. Then the world changed for all of us.”

More than $100,000? That’s LINSANE! Total linsanity up in this news blurb! So what I’m figuring is, if an established artist can create super expensive artwork out of polaroid photos of Lindsay Lohan shot in his studio at the Chateau Marmont (where EVERYTHING is, apparently), we can all certainly bring in at least around $10,000 for art created with online photo editors and photos we find in google image. Right? Correct logic? PERFECT!

Here is my collection:
