“It’s something I dreamed about my whole life.” — Hailee Steinfeld talking about her Oscar nomination for True Grit. She is 14 years old.
It was a very short dream.
“I have dreamed of becoming a master escape artist my whole life.”
Hey! She lost an arm! Give her a break!
“Oh, shut up.”
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub;
For in that sleep of teens what dreams may come
When we have just begun the ninth grade,
Must give us pause: there’s the awards
That makes awesomeness of so short life…
When you are 14 years old and already a professional actor, that is not something you have been dreaming about your whole life. It is something your PARENTS have been dreaming about your whole life.
Isn’t it more likely that this is true for someone so young? You don’t even remember anything before the age of 2 or 3, and it seems more probable that someone could have the same dream for 10 or 11 years than for 90 years which is how long Gabe has been dreaming of whatever it is he dreams about.
Does the length of a dream make it any less valid? For instance, I was just dreaming of Christina Hendricks walking into my office, dressed like a French maid and handing me a glass of scotch. I just conjured this up, and yet, if it happens, is it not a worthy dream?
Frankly, if It does I don’t care, because I’m drinking Scotch with French maid Christina Hendricks.
“That and ponies. Definitely dream a lot about ponies.”
Ya burnt, Hailee Steinfeld!
She’s lucky. I constantly have dreams of spitting all of me teeth out.
I’m proud to be one of the few people younger than Hailee Steinfeld on this website. This gives me time to achieve my dream of being nominated for an Oscar while being younger than Hailee Steinfeld.
Uhhhh…what else is she supposed to say?
“I have been waiting for this for literally a year!”
i’ll reserve my mocking of child stars for justin bieber who has a BIOPIC in 3D coming to a theater near you.
I thought her dream was for bedazzled jeans?
“This is a dream that I’ve had…since lunch…and I’m not giving it up now.”
Hailee Steinfeld was definitely better at her part than any supporting cast member was in the social network.
I found it an honor just to have been 14.
