One of last year’s most important rap mixtapes was iLoveMakonnen’s movement-starting I Love Makonnen EP, so it’s good news that Makonnen has another mixtape almost ready to drop. Later this month, he’ll come out with a new one called Drink More Water 5, and he’s just shared the gravelly, effortless “Drink More Water 5″ freestyle. I don’t think he’s really going off the dome here, but Makonnen’s rapping has grown a whole lot more assured in the last few months, to the point where he can just go in, with no hook for three and a half minutes straight.
