Iron & Wine – “Everyone’s Summer Of ’95” Video

Earlier this year, Sam Beam’s beard-folk project Iron & Wine released the old-unreleased-songs collection Archive Series Volume No. 1, compiling music that Beam recorded around the same time as he made his 2002 debut The Creek Drank The Cradle. One of those songs was the lovely, minimal “Everyone’s Summer Of ’95,” and it now has the pro-wrestling-centric video that nobody was expecting. In the clip, we see David Dastmalchian, an actor from the movie Prisoners, as a no-hope drifter who jumps into an indie wrestling ring on the spur of the moment. This is not a recommended course of action. Erin Elders and Jeff Tomcho directed the video, and you can watch it below.

Archive Series Volume No. 1 is out now on Beam’s new label Black Cricket. What indie wrestling fed has a ref who spits fire and wears clown makeup? Nobody comes to the show to see the ref, buddy!
