Watch Ryan Adams Cover Bryan Adams’ “Summer Of ’69” In Callback To Infamous Heckling Incident

Back in 2003, Ryan Adams was playing Nashville’s fabled Ryman Auditorium, and one fan wouldn’t stop requesting that he cover Bryan Adams’ cheese-rock hit “Summer Of ’69.” Ryan famously kicked the fan out, cussing him out and throwing him a refund in the process. Hopefully, that fan was in the crowd when Adams returned to the Ryman last night. Adams has mellowed on the whole your-name-sounds-like-Ryan-Adams thing lately. He covered Bryan Adams’ “Run To You” live last year, and he and Bryan are friendly now. And last night, Adams finally fulfilled that fan’s request more than a decade later. At last night’s Ryman show, he covered “Summer Of ’69” as a heartfelt solo-acoustic lament, and he made that audience very happy. Check out a fan-made video below.
