Communions, a young band from Copenhagen, come from the same Danish punk scene that gave us bands like Iceage, and they’ve got some of the same chilly sparseness that some of those bands bring. But Communions also have gifts for melody and for woozy, spangly guitar sounds that make them unique in their scene. Last year, they impressed us with their “So Long Sun” b/w “Love Stands Still” single. Next week, they’ll release their self-titled debut EP, and early tracks “Out Of My World” and “Summer’s Oath” showed real promise. Right now, you can stream the whole five-song platter.
