Creed frontman Scott Stapp had a bout of substance-abuse related meltdowns in late 2014 that suggested he was coping with some significant burdens. He posted some videos detailing his fears to Facebook, and later replaced them with a statement that cited Bible verses and letting God be in control. A few weeks ago, he told People about that dark period, which included a psychotic break and a bipolar diagnosis.

As Stapp heals, he’s also attempting to rebuild his relationship with his estranged wife, Jaclyn. During the height of his alcohol and drug abuse, she filed for a 60-day psychiatric hold and for divorce along with custody of the couple’s children. Despite the past, though, People reports the two are set to appear on VH1’s reality show Couples Therapy. They’ll spend three weeks in therapy with Dr. Jenn Mann for the show’s sixth season. Will anyone be offended if I make an “arms wide open” joke right now?
