Yesterday, eternal Hoboken indie deities Yo La Tengo announced the impending release of their new album Stuff Like That There, a collection of covers. They also shared two of the songs that’ll appear on the album: A new version of their own classic “Deeper Into Movies” and a take on “Automatic Doom,” a song from bassist James McNew’s old band the Special Pillow. And now they’ve linked up with another New Jersey institution: Tom Scharpling’s cultishly beloved radio show-turned-podcast The Best Show. On the latest episode, Scharpling interviews the band, and they play those same two songs. Listen to it here.
