Statik Selektah – “All You Need” (Feat. Action Bronson, Ab-Soul & Elle Varner)
The New York DJ and producer Statik Selektah has been working for years to revive the sound of mid-’90s boom-bap, so it’s fun to hear him get loose. Statik’s forthcoming album Lucky 7, which includes the Action Bronson/Joey Bada$$ collab “Beautiful Life,” also has a mellow, languid love song called “All I Need.” It’s got Action Bronson professing love (“I don’t even get head on tour”) while Ab-Soul drops a breakup bomb and the R&B singer Elle Varner coos airily.
