Wye Oak, Dr. Dog, Dawes To Perform With Baltimore Symphony Orchestra

In their centennial 2015-2016 concert season, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra is partnering with WTMD-FM 89.7 as part of Pulse, a new concert series to appeal to the “next generation.” Pulse is bringing indie rock bands to the stage alongside Baltimore’s esteemed classical ensemble. On Tuesday, they announced that Dawes, Baltimore’s own Wye Oak, Dr. Dog, and the Lone Bellow are part of the lineup. Each concert will take place at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall at 7PM on a Thursday night. In a sort of Happy Hour, local restaurants, craftspeople, and area breweries will be in the lobby when doors open at 5PM. The program includes contemporary classical pieces performed by the orchestra, a set performed by the guest band, and a final set merging the two. Here’s the schedule:

09/24/15 Dawes
10/12/15 Wye Oak
03/24/16 Dr. Dog
04/28/16 The Lone Bellow

Tickets are $35 and go on sale this Friday. Call 410-783-8000 or visit bsopulse.org.
