The Swedish masked trad-metal band Ghost announced their third album, Meliora, back in May, followed quickly by lead single “Cirice.” Today, they release another one: “From The Pinnacle To The Pit.” I’ve been sort of ambivalent about Ghost for a while now, and I was pretty ready to give this track a middling assessment here based on the verse/bridge — but when the song gets to its first chorus at about the 1:40 mark, the melody just EXPLODES. It’s so goddamn catchy that it will elevate you. So … I actually think I love it and I’m gonna listen to it like 20 times today. You should too.
