Washington D.C. duo GEMS made their first run around the blog circuit back at the tail end of 2013, coming in at the height of the moody R&B-inspired wave. Wisely, they’ve waited a bit for that trend to die down before coming back with more new music. Their twinkling debut EP, Medusa, has aged well, and their new track “Living As A Ghost” feels like a natural extension of their charms. It’s a chilly détente, one where vocalist Lindsay Pitts feels tired of standing still — Clifford John Usher’s answers with a blast of noise in reply.
