Watch New Order, Iggy Pop, Mark E. Smith & More Honor Factory Records Founder Tony Wilson

Tony Wilson, founder of the great postpunk label Factory Records and subject of the movie 24 Hour Party People, died in 2007. And as Pitchfork reports, a new single from poet Mike Garry and musician Joe Duddell pays tribute to Wilson. The song is called “St. Anthony: An Ode To Anthony H Wilson,” and it’s built around New Order’s classic “Your Silent Face.” It’ll be out later this week on vinyl, and the new video features a host of luminaries lip-syncing its lyrics and generally being there to honor Wilson. The cast includes Iggy Pop, three members of New Order, Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder, the Fall’s Mark E. Smith, Philip Glass, Factory designer Peter Saville, great music critic Paul Morley, and 24 Hour Party People star Steve Coogan. Mark Thomas directed it. Check it out below.

The single is out 8/14 on Skinny Dog.
