Stream Windhand Grief’s Infernal Flower

Grief’s Infernal Flower, the new album from the Richmond, Virginia band Windhand, is a crushingly slow and heavy doom-metal opus. But in the midst of all its world-obliterating guitar crunches, it’s also got a whole lot of melody, and sometimes its sound turns into straight-up spectral folk music. The band recorded the album with veteran grunge producer Jack Endino, who worked on records like Nirvana’s Bleach, and it’s a worthy successor to their great 2013 album Soma. We’ve already posted the songs “Two Urns,” “Crypt Key,” and “Hyperion.” And now, thanks to NPR, you can stream the entire album below.

Grief’s Infernal Flower is out 9/18 on Relapse.
