Elvis Costello Announces Memoir Companion Soundtrack Featuring Previously Unreleased Songs

Elvis Costello’s memoir, Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink, is due out in October, and today he announced that the book will be accompanied by a new compilation album. The LP, also titled Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink, was sequenced by Costello himself and references certain points in his life discussed in the memoir. The 38-track, 2-CD set also contains two previously unreleased titles including “April 5th,” which was written and recorded alongside Rosanne Cash, Kris Kristofferson, and John Leventhal, as well as an early solo recording from 1975 titled “I Can’t Turn It Off.” The collection also boasts three audio book sketches that were not featured in the memoir as well as a booklet containing previously unseen photographs and a complete lyric sheet.
