Nearly a decade ago, the team of MF DOOM and Ghostface Killah, under the name DOOMSTARKS, were supposed to release a collaborative album. It never happened, but apparently it finally will sometime soon. We’ve heard rumblings about a new DOOMSTARKS album coming out by the end of the year, and now we’ve got a song released under that name. As part of this year’s Adult Swim Singles series, Ghost and DOOM have released “Lively Hood,” a two-minute rap sprint over a broken and hallucinatory DOOM beat. These two have always had great chemistry, and the idea of them teaming up for more is tantalizing. But if this one song is all we get, it’s still a pretty great thing on its own.
