Watch The Dead Weather Play Live For The First Time In Five Years On Colbert

The Dead Weather, Jack White’s band with Kills singer Alison Mosshart, hadn’t played live in five years before last night. In fact, their last live performance was an August 2010 performance on the Late Show With David Letterman. Last night, they returned to the same site, though it’s got a different host now. On Stephen Colbert’s version of the Late Show, the band played a feverish rendition of “I Feel Love (Every Million Miles),” the lead single from the band’s forthcoming album Dodge And Burn. Colbert’s directors had fun with their psychedelic in-camera effects during the performance, which is something you almost never see in late-night TV but which went nicely with the band’s ’70s hesher-rock vibes. Watch the performance below.

Dodge And Burn is out 9/25 on Third Man Records.
