New York City duo Devon Craig Johnson and Nasimiyu Murumba don’t seem to take themselves too seriously, which is partly what makes their twisty, playful tracks as Baeb Rxxth so effortless and fun. There’s also insatiably syncopated beats, wackadoodle samples, and some serious vocal chops from Murumba, which all combine to make OMW a thrilling, multi-dimensional pop debut. The many ingredients to Baeb Rxxth’s pop seems pulled from a colossal genre smorgasbord, from gospel and R&B elements to post-internet glitch pop of the PC Music variety. Despite its many angles, there’s nothing overloaded about OMW’s genre-melding. As compositions, each of the EP’s five tracks are succinct and tightly packed. Murumba’s singing leads with unfaltering flair and the circusy electronic production never veers off into disorder. We’ve shared takeaway’s “STRP“, and “Gutter“, and now the EP is streaming in full. Listen below.

OMW is out 11/13.
