Watch Jonny Greenwood, Shye Ben Tzur & The Rajasthan Express Perform “Hu”

To make the new album Junun, Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood and Israeli-American composer Shye Ben Tzur went to India to record with the Rajasthan Express, a group of Indian musicians. The great filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson filmed everything and make a documentary about it. And in a newly-shared outtake from the movie, as Pitchfork points out, we get to see Greenwood, Tzur, and the Rajasthan Express sitting in a circle and recording “Hu,” one of the album’s tracks. It’s one thing to hear this music, and it’s entirely another to see a group of people making it in real time. The visual component gives the whole thing a sort of magical quality. And it’s worth noting that this wasn’t an ego trip for Greenwood, easily the most famous musician involved. Instead, we just see him in the corner, hair in his face, his guitar adding to the sound. Watch it below.

Junun is out now on Nonesuch.
