It’s hard not to cringe as Disney kids begin adulting, looking to express their individuality after being a corporate instrument for so long. Seeing the beloved Keke Palmer with some Rogue-esque white streaks in her up-do kind of scared of me, but my fears quickly subsided listening to her hold her own with Ty Dolla $ign and Dej Loaf on the “I Don’t Belong To You” remix. She also released a couple tasteful, sultry clips last year for “I Don’t Belong To You” and her recreation of Aaliyah’s “Try Again,” so I think we may be safe. On the “I Don’t Belong To You” remix, Ty kicks off the festivities with an understated, sensual verse before Palmer handles the hook and Dej Loaf hits some quick signature sing-song bars. More Keke Palmer is welcome as long as she doesn’t go Miley on us. Who know True Jackson could hold it down?
