BJ The Chicago Kid is making the major-label leap. The promising R&B singer has spent the past few years doing songs with many of our favorite rappers, and now Pitchfork reports that he’ll release his new album In My Mind next month. The LP features the Chance The Rapper/Buddy collab “Church,” as well as songs that feature people like Kendrick Lamar and Big K.R.I.T. And along with that album announcement, he’s also got a new video for a new song. “Love Inside” is a sweltering sex jam that rides a nicely patient drum-clatter and shows off BJ’s churchy rasp. The video seems like an attempt to turn BJ into a heartthrob, but it doesn’t show off BJ’s personality as well as another video that Pitchfork just shared. In the newest episode of All Def Digital’s “Arts & Raps” series, he hangs out with a couple of little kids, answering questions like “why does Future mumble?” and “what is a thot?” It’s cute, other than the thot part.
