B Boys – “Get A Grip”

B Boys are not a hip-hop dance crew but rather a post-punk band signed to Captured Tracks. “Get A Grip,” from their forthcoming No Worry No Mind EP, is part of the same pulse-racing New York rock continuum that includes Parquet Courts’ “Stoned And Starving” and the Strokes’ “New York City Cops,” but with gang vocals, phased-out ’80s guitars, and lots of arty intellectual ideas. For example, here’s what they told The FADER:

As the layers unfold, we melt away, revealing our insignificance. Our only resolve is to attain humility and find a place of calm.
