Watch Jessica Williams Defend Beyoncé’s Super Bowl Performance On The Daily Show

Beyoncé’s Super Bowl Halftime Show performance was obviously badass, and it doesn’t really need defending. But yesterday, certain members of the Republican outrage industrial complex got all up in arms about it. Former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani said that its relatively subtle black-empowerment message amounted to an “attack” on police, saying that the Super Bowl entertainment should be something “wholesome.” The Daily Show basically exists to lambast nonsense like this, and yesterday, it did that beautifully. Correspondent Jessica Williams appeared on the show to pick apart what the fuck Giuliani was talking about, giving this money-shot line: “The fans deserve wholesome entertainment, like watching 300-pound men give each other concussions while the crowd cheers like we’re extras in the movie Gladiator.” Watch it below, via Rolling Stone.

The last time we mentioned Williams on this site, she was defending Jay Z against similar slander.
