Next week, Iggy Pop will release his new Josh Homme-produced album Post Pop Depression. And later this month, Pop and Homme will head off on a theater tour with the stripped-down backing band who also appeared on the album. The tour doesn’t launch until 3/28, but Pop and Homme will be in Austin during SXSW to tape an episode of Austin City Limits. And as a last-minute surprise last night, they also played a show last night at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles. And for a quick preview of Pop and his new touring band, you can watch a fan-made video from last night’s show — Pop singing “Lust For Life,” his indestructible 1977 classic, and giving his band a chance to show what it could do. And holy shit, Iggy Pop is still just a monster performer. Watch it below.
Post Pop Depression is out 3/18 on Loma Vista.
