There’s been an distinct, unsettling lack of whistling on the first two tracks we’ve heard from Andrew Bird’s upcoming album Are You Serious, “Capsized” and the Fiona Apple duet “Left Handed Kisses.” But fear not — the opening seconds of new song “Roma Fade” put to rest any worries that the LP might not capitalize on Bird’s world-class talent. And yeah, the rest of the song is good too, jumping straight from its placid intro into a rhythmically propulsive groove that culminates with some unexpected distortion. It also comes with more artwork from the great conceptual artist John Baldessari, who created art to accompany each track in addition to the album cover. Listen below.
