Mutual Benefit – “Lost Dreamers”

Mutual Benefit – “Lost Dreamers”

Next month, Mutual Benefit is following up his much-loved 2013 breakthrough Love’s Crushing Diamond with a new album called Skip A Sinking Stone. We’ve seen the animated video for its lovely lead single “Not For Nothing,” and now he’s shared another new track.

Both thematically and sonically, “Lost Dreamers” is a calming oasis amidst the tumult of modern existence, a shining quilt woven from gentle guitar strums, sighing strings, and lilting flutes. “Let’s take the long way home/ Let’s throw away our phone/ We can see stars from here/ Why would we go back anywhere,” Jordan Lee sings, his voice wafting through as if carried in on a passing breeze. In conjunction with the release of the song, Mutual Benefit is also announcing the Lost Dreamers contest, in which fans can submit their dreams (in written or pictorial form) to this website for a chance to win a test pressing, a limited edition color LP, a signed poster, an original tour photo, and a dream journal. Selected submissions chosen by Lee will then be visually recreated by a group of artists for an animated Mutual Benefit dream journal. Listen to “Lost Dreamers” below via Spin.
