MONEY – “Three Days Drinking And As Many Lovers Too”

English goth-folk purveyors MONEY kicked off the year with Suicide Songs, the followup to their 2013 debut, The Shadow Of Heaven. Their latest full-length is as bleak as the title suggests, but it’s beautiful in its bare, stripped sound and candid, vivid storytelling. Now more pretty gloom has surfaced in the form of a new single called “Three Days Drinking And As Many Lovers Too.” Twangy guitars jangle along slowly and pick up in energy as wounded wails of sadness and regret detail an attempt at life reassesment after a 72-hour bender. The lyrics “After three days drinking, as many lovers too, I am baptized, don’t be afraid of death” hit the deepest depths of the emotional abyss. It’s depressing as hell, but if you need someone to go 20,000 leagues under the sea of feels with you then this is the perfect track for you. Listen.

Suicide Songs is out now.
