Watch Wolf Parade Play Their First Show In 5 Years

Wolf Parade are reissuing their classic album Apologies To The Queen Mary tomorrow, and next week, they’re putting out a new EP and kicking off a five-day residency at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom. That was supposed to be the big return, their first live shows in five years, but it seems like they just couldn’t wait. Last night, as Pitchfork reports, a band called “Del Scorcho” that looked and sounded suspiciously like Wolf Parade played a surprise concert at The Queens in Nanaimo, British Columbia. “Everyone’s pals DEL SCORCHO (parading around like wolves) (yes, you read that correctly) are back in action and heading off to challenge the world, but first, a super secret (shh!) warm up show at The Queens for the Vancouver Island faithful,” reads the show’s event page on Facebook. The set featured some of Wolf Parade’s new material, including EP tracks “Floating World” and “Mr. Startup.” Watch fan-shot footage below.
