It already feels a million years old, thanks to a months-long onslaught of huge album releases, but Animal Collective’s grand return Painting With is a 2016 album, and they’re still out promoting it. Last night, AnCo served as musical guests on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert, where they performed the album’s antic first single “FloriDada.” All three regular members perched behind banks of electronics, with a drummer behind them, harmonizing furiously while trippy light patterns swirled all around them. The huge fake Easter Island heads that are part of their current live show also made it onstage. Watch the performance below.
