Watch The Killers Cover Interpol And Debut A New Song In Ontario

When the Killers first came out more than a decade ago, they came off like a streamlined, radio-friendly take on Interpol. And even though the two bands have moved off in divergent directions, it’s cool to see that the Killers still hold Interpol in something like reverence. The Killers are headlining Cincinnati’s Bunbury Festival this weekend, and last night, as a warmup, they played their first show in a few months at an Ontario casino. During their set, as the fansite the Killers News points out, leading into “Bling (Confessions Of A King)” the Killers debuted one untitled new song that, as far as we can tell, mostly involved Brandon Flowers solo at a piano. And during that same show, they also covered Interpol’s semi-classic “Obstacle 1.” Watch fan-made videos of the new song and the Interpol cover below.

So what do you think? Did they pull it off or merely stab themselves in the neck?
