Earlier this month, Angel Olsen shared a video for a shimmering new synthpop song called “Intern.” Soon afterward, she announced the impending release of a new album called My Woman, the follow-up to 2014’s stunning Burn Your Fire For No Witness. Today, we get to hear another song from the album. “Shut Up Kiss Me” sounds nothing like “Intern.” Instead, it’s a ragged, brisk guitar-rocker with lyrics about urgent infatuation. Olsen wrote and directed the song’s video herself. In it, she wears the same sparkly silver wig that she wore in the “Intern” video. It’s beautifully shot, with moody ’70s lighting, and we see Olsen looking like a superhero while hanging out in parking lots, parks, and abandoned skating rinks, all at night. Watch it below.
