Will Sheff’s literate rock project Okkervil River is returning soon with the new album Away, and we’ve already posted the “Okkervil River R.I.P.” video. Today, Sheff has shared another video, and this one is for “The Industry,” a new song in which he bemoans the fate of the music world. In director Christopher Good’s video, Sheff plays an astronaut who returns to a surreal, unrecognizable earth, a place where sinister clowns assign things random numeric values and where people’s hearts pump pink liquid into their Walkmans. I have no idea what any of it means, but I have a feeling that the whole thing is a sneak Pitchfork diss. Watch it below and figure it out for yourself.
