Berlin’s Mayor Michael Mueller unveiled a plaque dedicated to David Bowie today on the building where the late musician lived from 1976-1978. Bowie wrote and recorded Heroes and Low and produced Iggy Pop’s The Idiot during his time in Berlin. According to the Associated Press, Mayor Mueller spoke of Bowie’s “special relationship” to the city during the dedication, and the plaque (pictured above) quotes the “Heroes” refrain: “We can be heroes, just for one day.”
