Lil Wayne – “Grateful”

Lil Wayne took to social media to vent some frustrations last week, tweeting “I AM NOW DEFENSELESS AND mentally DEFEATED & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fanz but I’m dun.” Many took that as Wayne announcing his impending retirement, and messages of support poured in from everyone from Kendrick Lamar to recent adversary Young Thug. Aside from a subsequent tweet reading “I’m good y’all don’t trip,” Wayne still hasn’t clarified his remarks. But he’s clearly not in retirement yet, as he’s just shared a new song as yet another Tidal exclusive. Produced by Streetrunner and Rugah Rah and featuring Gudda Gudda, “Grateful” finds Wayne taking a few more shots at Cash Money label boss Birdman: “You don’t see Stunna right next to me, and I won’t see Stunna write checks to me/ They can’t put no more Weezy Baby out, that’s that Cash Money vasectomy.” Listen below.
