Hear “New Globe” From Toro Y Moi’s New Ambient Project PLUM

In addition to his main gig as Toro Y Moi, Chaz Bundick tends to have a few side projects going on at once. The latest is PLUM, a new experimental ambient project whose debut self-titled tape is out now via Leaving Records. It’s comprised of one long track called “New Globe,” which is described as a “long ambient synthesizer exploration.” A press release elaborates:

“New Globe” was created using the Dave Smith and Tom Oberheim OB-6 synthesizer, and perhaps more specifically inspired by the still-contemporary New Age music of legendary composer Laraaji. The project was set into motion by a hunch from Leaving’s Matthewdavid to participate in the Modern New Age series.

You can listen to it below.

PLUM is available through Leaving Records on digital and tape here.
