The Staves occasionally share videos of themselves warming up before their shows, singing a cappella in various hallways, and they’re always a treat to watch. The Stavely-Taylor sisters are in Berlin this weekend for the massive, not-for-profit collaborative performance organized by Justin Vernon, Aaron Dessner, and Bryce Dessner, and they rehearsed for tonight’s kickoff at the Funkhaus studios by singing Kate Bush’s “Cloudbusting” in “a corridor with magical acoustics.” But, to be fair, those harmonies would sound magical anywhere.
