Phantogram – “Take Me Home” (Phil Collins Cover)

Phantogram’s new album Three is finally out in the world today, though given the number of advance singles — one, two, three, four, five, six — you may feel like you’ve already heard it. If not, definitely check it out: It’s dark and sleek and propulsive and catchy as hell.

Here’s something you definitely haven’t heard: The duo covered Phil Collins’ “Take Me Home” for the amfAR benefit comp The Time Is Now. We’ve posted Scarlett Johansson’s new band Sugar For Sugar covering New Order and Lower Dens doing Hall & Oates, and today the whole comp is streaming, including Phantogram’s take on Collins. You can hear that below along with Metric’s cover of the Church’s “Under The Milky Way,” Yuna’s take on the Cure’s “Lovesong,” and DNCE doing Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It?”

One more Phantogram thing: The band played Colbert last night, and the episode is available here. Oh! And they had a conversation with Vince Staples for Interview. Read that while playing Phantogram’s album and all those ’80s covers below.

The Time Is Now is out today via 10/7 via Republic/Mass Appeal, and Phantogram’s Three is also out today via Republic.
