Watch Sorority Noise Frontman Cameron Boucher’s Acoustic Cover Of Rilo Kiley’s “A Better Son/Daughter”

A Better Son/Daughter,” a song from Rilo Kiley’s 2002 album The Execution Of All Things, is one of our greatest musical chronicles of what depression feels like. It’s the sort of song that can inspire mass singalongs and private breakdowns, and so it’s no surprise that Cam Boucher loves it. Boucher, the frontman of the Connecticut emo band Sorority Noise, writes songs about addiction and manic depression that hit those same notes. And during a recent acoustic session for the music website Punks In Vegas, Boucher played a stripped-down solo cover of “A Better Son/Daughter,” somehow keeping his shit together throughout. Watch that and Boucher’s solo version of Sorority Noise’s Joy, Departed song “Corrigan” below.

Seriously, “A Better Son/Daughter,” what a fucking song.
