M.I.A. Teases US Tour Now That Her Visa Is Approved
M.I.A. recently posted the picture above on her Instagram account with the caption/question: “To tour or not to tour.” It seemed like an odd hint because she had previously expressed concern that Interscope may not release her latest album, AIM, because she didn’t have a US visa to promote it Stateside. She even included a song called “Visa” on the album.
Today, she took to her Instagram again to tease the tour and deliver the news that her US visa has been approved. It seems the conversations with immigration and human rights lawyers she mentioned during a Periscope update went well. A representative in M.I.A.’s camp has confirmed to Pitchfork that her visa has indeed been approved.
