Malmö, Sweden quartet Hater will follow this year’s promising Radius EP with their debut album You Tried early next year. Lead single “Mental Haven” is awash with chiming guitar chords and shimmering synth embellishments, an old-school rock song shrouded in indie-pop softness. With a slightly grizzled tone, Caroline Landahl sings about finding peace in the midst of madness — especially appropriate on a day like today — and the song provides just such a respite.
