The ridiculously gifted young soul singer BJ The Chicago Kid scored a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance earlier this week. And today, he’s hit us with a warm, moving tribute to a Midwestern soul singer from a different generation. The two-minute loosie “Uncle Marvin” is a song about Marvin Gaye, and it also features Gaye’s disembodied voice drifting all through it. It is a sincere and deeply felt piece of hero-worship, and you can hear it below, via Fake Shore Drive.

I hope BJ doesn’t get sued for this.
