Earlier this year, Speedy Ortiz leader Sadie Dupuis, recording under her Twitter alias Sad13, released her debut solo album Slugger. And as Dupuis points out on Twitter, she spent yesterday recording another song — one that we, as a people, really need right now. The new song is called “MCGA,” and yes, it stands for “Make Christmas Great Again.” The song concerns a dilemma that many of us are facing right now: The idea that we’re all going to have to go home and learn how the members of our family voted this year. Sample lyrics: “It’s so textbook unchristian / Espousing men’s rights activism.” On top of that, it’s a deeply fun, fuzzed-out indie-pop jam. Listen to it below.
