JW Ridley – “Everything (Deathless)” (Part 1)

London art-school graduate Jack Ridley has linked up with the Speedy Wunderground label for “Everything (Deathless),” an eight-minute epic produced by Bat For Lashes/Yeasayer/Toy collaborator Dan Carey. The song melds the moody guitar pop of the Cure with an energized krautrock undertow and runs it all through a washed-out filter out of the Captured Tracks playbook. It’s excellent — a prime example of an eight-minute track that merits its extended run time — and it marks Ridley as one to keep an eye on. Hear the first half below.

“Everything (Deathless)” is out 2/10 on Speedy Wunderground. Pre-order it here.
